Thursday, March 21 - Maori coast

      While around 15% of the population of NZ is Maori, the east coast of the North Island has a much higher concentration.
This simple Catholic church looks quite ordinary on the outside ...
... but every square inch of the interior is decorated
with Maori art.

We drove out to the end of East Cape to see the lighthouse.  

There are beautiful horses running loose, enjoying the lush greenery
The first spot in the world to see the morning sun.
