Thursday, November 15 Palm Cove Campground to Noah Creek Campground – Rainforest

Thursday morning we had bread and jam and coffee at the campground, then went over to C&A's apartment to put all the refrigerator food into the cooler and pack up our car. We convoyed out of Palm Cove and headed up the Queensland coast to the town of Mossman.

The rainforest in Queensland stretches from south of Cairns to the northern tip of Cape York, a distance of over 1000 km in a narrow band limited by the Pacific Ocean on the east and the coastal ranges on the west. The Daintree National Park is an important reserve that protects the flora and fauna of the wet rainforest. In Mossman we took a hike through the park to see some of the wonders of the jungle.

After our hike we crossed the Daintree River on a cable ferry.

Our campground for the night was at Noah Beach, part of the National Park. We managed to cram our two vehicles and tents onto the small site, and had burritos for dinner.
