We
bumped along the rocky track back to the main road and headed back
towards AS. We made a couple short stops along the way, including;

Back in
Alice Springs we posted our absentee ballots, did some more shopping,
ice mostly for the Coleman cooler, and headed north out of town.
We made
it to the Tropic of Capricorn and spent the night there at a rest
area. A group of six young French people parked near us and used the
picnic table next to ours in the shelter. Diana talked to one of the
women for over an hour while I prepared dinner. We set up or tent
next to the LC, glad to have the breeze in the hot night, and also
glad to have thrown on the fly when it rained later that night.
