We
fixed a windy breakfast of coffee and oatmeal, (the weather
conditions were windy, not us) overlooking Spencer Gulf.
After packing up the LC we took a short stroll on the beach before
driving to the dunes a few kilometers away.
Now that we have sponges you can do the dishes, Kevin |
Nice snake ... niiiice snake |
The drive to Port Lincoln took us through wheat and wine country,
with nice farmhouses set back a half a mile from the road.
Hay there .... I know, you're all getting tired of my corny captions, too bad! |
In Port Lincoln we finally found our fish, buying enough for the next
three nights. Also bought a cask of white wine. Then we checked
into the local caravan park, which is right on the gulf and very
nicely appointed. I call it the Hilton. Before dinner we took a
longish hke to the harbor, where we could walk right up to the
fishing trawlers. Eyre Peninsula has a thriving wheat growing
agribusiness and a large storage and shipping capability for sending
grain overseas.
Don't remember seeing that episode |
Back at the camp we cooked in the campground kitchen, I fried Orange
Roughy with rice and veggies. We spent a couple hours talking to the
two other couples there, a retired Aussie man and wife and two kids
(26 ish) from Arizona just finishing working at a tiny resort at the
northern tip of the Queensland at Cape York and now traveling the
country in a rented Toyota Corolla with the back seats removed and in
which they sleep. Makes our LC seem like the Queen Mary.
Four people in a Toyota Corolla with only two seats, and they all sleep in there??!!?-KDB
ReplyDeleteACtually, two different couples, two different vehicles.
