Sunday, December 9 Brisbane to Roadside Rest North of Byron Bay

It was 4 pm before we finally said goodbye to W&L, but we got Kristy's stuff all packed up and headed down the coast.  For now she is sharing the front seat with Diana, it's a bench seat so there is enough room for two small people, which is how we'll be traveling once we have Ryan, Kelly and Dan on board starting Dec. 18.
We did a little shopping then drove about 100 km down the coast to Kristy's first free camp experience.  Not a bad spot, except for the fly enclouded pit toilets, loud German boys calling home at midnight, resident roosters crowing at 2 am (what is it about the feral chooks in the rest areas, this is the second time we've seen it), and finally leaches crawling out of the toilets in the morning.  Sorry we didn't get photos.
    Welcome to Oz, Kristy!
