Sitting in the rain on the west coast

      We've been driving down the west coast of the South Island for the past couple days.  The weather has been great until now, and we've taken advantage of it with some good hikes.  But there has been no internet access for us so we've been incommunicado.  Right now we're at a McDonald's in Greymouth, which our computer can't connect to, so while the kids enjoy free Wifi we're sitting in the steaming van using our Vodafone dongle to do some posting.  I'm over a week behind, but here are a couple days of blogging to chew on.
