After worrying about the long Pacific flight for the past 20 years, we ended up having some great luck. We had two seats in the center section of a Boeing 777, supposedly the last two seats available on that flight. But the two aisle seats were never taken, so we had the whole four seats to ourselves! Ah, sleep stretched out on a couch, or near enough. Plus Air New Zealand has great service, free beer and wine, lots and lots of movies to choose from on seat back display.
Arrived at Sydney 9:30 am, sunny 68 F. Now waiting for bus to our hostel.

We'll be saving most of pint downing for when we get back home. Too $$$ here. However, the Aussie wines are affordable and tasty.

ReplyDeleteThe taut roundness of your backpack makes it look like you carted a 5-gallon bucket down under. Or a laundry hamper. That is not what I expected at all.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, glad you were able to lay down, it sounds like first class, laying down, free beer and wine... Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteHave been thinking of you along the way. Glad to hear that you have made it! Are you going to be checking email? I think you have heard from Kim Chorley. Wanted to fill you in on a couple things, so will email. Pat
ReplyDeleteSo exciting-love the vehicles you are considering.I have not moved into the bus yet-but may at least have a birthday party in it.Look forward to reading more-be safe-have fun!
ReplyDeletelove you guys!
Having room to stretch out and sleep can make a flight so much more bearable. On my flights to and from Germany, I could not sleep at all. Without a window seat, there just isn't anywhere for your head to rest.
ReplyDeleteI'll echo Tracy's comment; that's an odd shaped bag you've got there Dad.
